METABOLISM, GLOBAL HEALTH AND LIVER TRANSPLANT

The Research Group MEDITRA ("Metabolic disorders after Liver Transplantation"), promoted and coordinated by Dr. Stefano Gitto (Transplant Hepatologist and Researcher of the University of Florence), sees the participation of various hepatological units distributed throughout the country . The Group's aim is to share and develop research projects aimed at improving the overall health and quality of life of patients undergoing liver transplantation. In particular, the main focus is represented by the metabolic, cardiovascular and oncological problems of the transplant patient. A further objective is to promote and disseminate information regarding a correct lifestyle by trying  to answer some recurring questions of the transplant patient.  This web page (without any profit) was therefore created to promote research in the field of transplantation and constitute a reference point for transplant patients and their families.
